To ensure electrode conductivity and sulfurization resistance, conventional processes usually require the formation of a silver layer with a thickness of approximately 20 μm. However, this thickness has become a major cost burden in production.

Therefore, cost reduction has become an urgent priority. Especially under the dual pressure of cost control and performance requirements, manufacturers urgently need a solution that can ensure product quality while significantly reducing production costs.

To address this challenge, two major technical routes are currently developing in parallel within the industry. On one hand, through vacuum sputtering technology, the silver layer thickness can be reduced from the traditional 20 μm to less than 6 μm, while maintaining electrode performance. This significantly reduces silver consumption, with silver material usage reduced by approximately 70%.

1. Advanced Process for Lower Silver Consumption

By adopting Zhenhua Vacuum’s independently developed vacuum sputtering technology, the equipment can deposit two or more metal film layers on both sides of the workpiece within the same vacuum cycle.

Compared with the traditional wet silver plating process, the silver layer thickness can be reduced from approximately 20 μm to less than 6 μm, while maintaining electrode conductivity, durability, and sulfurization resistance. This greatly reduces silver consumption, with silver material usage reduced by approximately 70%.

2. Copper Electrode Replacement: Silver-Free Cost Reduction

Through magnetron sputtering copper coating technology, traditional silver electrodes can be completely replaced. This not only effectively avoids the risks caused by silver price fluctuations, but also prevents silver ion migration and sulfurization failure.

Compared with the traditional silver electrode printing process, magnetron sputtering copper coating significantly improves conductivity and reliability, delivers excellent sulfurization resistance, and reduces production costs.
