For example, more than ten years ago, in order to improve the appearance and texture of products, the appearance and interior parts of automobiles generally use plastic injection molding + surface chrome plating to imitate metal. However, with the development and progress of science and technology, the improvement of consumer demand and the tightening of the current national environmental protection policy, the water plating process has been gradually replaced by the new UV vacuum plating process due to its negative impact on environmental emissions and its limitations. . Especially in the automotive interior parts industry, the vacuum electroplating process has incomparable advantages over the traditional water electroplating process. The main reasons are as follows:
1. Water electroplating is carried out by immersing in chemical liquid. The parts of the product that do not need electroplating are coated with insulating oil in advance to avoid electroplating. Although it can barely achieve the effect of electroplating, but the parts coated with insulating oil after electroplating, the insulating oil cannot be completely removed, and the appearance of the material will be more or less damaged. However, the vacuum plating process does not have the risk of chemical liquid immersion because its principle is physical evaporation and film formation. When using the vacuum electroplating process to produce automotive interior parts, the part of the product that does not need electroplating can be covered by the fixture shielding method before electroplating. After the plating is completed, the covering fixture is removed, and the surface of the material at the avoidance position can be completely preserved without any damage or chemical residue.
2. In order to increase the sense of technology of the car, more and more models have added the design of interior ambient lights in different positions of the car, that is, after turning on the running lights at night, the dashboard, front and rear doors, sunroofs and other positions in the car The outline of the LED ambient light will appear, and a light green or light blue soft light pattern will be transmitted through the hollowed-out position of the car interior parts, giving people a sense of technology and beauty. The new process is a successful application of UV vacuum plating technology and has excellent post-processing characteristics. After vacuum electroplating, transparent plastic products can be laser engraved to remove the electroplating layer on surfaces that require light transmission. When the LED ambient light is turned on, the light can pass through the laser engraved position, creating a beautiful pattern. Because the surface of water electroplating is a metal copper-nickel-chromium layer attached by chemical replacement, it is impossible to remove the electroplating layer by laser engraving to obtain the light-transmitting effect.
3. UV vacuum coating NCVM process, that is, non-conductive vacuum coating process, can be used for automotive interior parts with high wireless signal requirements. This process can effectively avoid the problem of transmission attenuation when the signal penetrates the metal coating, ensure the smooth transmission of mobile phone signals, Bluetooth signals, and broadcast signals, and avoid the formation of information islands in the car. However, due to process characteristics and material limitations, the water plating process cannot temporarily solve the problem of transmission attenuation (shielding) when the signal passes through the coating.
